Wholesale courier at a glance

What is a wholesale courier?

A wholesale courier is a dedicated delivery service for trade orders, palletised stock and bulk goods moving from wholesalers and distributors to their trade customers. Flextro collects the consignment and takes it directly to the customer, on one vehicle, with no pallet network hub in between.

The work is usually one of two kinds. Urgent trade orders, where a customer needs stock today or a delivery slot must be met. And planned capacity, such as regular trade rounds or extra vehicles on the days your own fleet is full.

The difference from a pallet network is handling. A pallet is loaded once and delivered direct, without being broken down, re-stacked or trunked through a hub, so it arrives in the condition it left and at the time you were quoted.

Wholesale courier services for distributors and trade suppliers

Most wholesale delivery falls into six patterns, from a trade order that must arrive today to extra vans every Friday. Each one runs on a vehicle dedicated to your job.

What wholesalers send

What does a wholesale courier carry?

Anything a wholesaler or distributor needs moved that fits a van, from a few cases to six pallets. These are the consignments trade suppliers ask us to move most often.

Palletised stock

Full and part pallets of trade stock delivered direct.

Cased goods

Cases and cartons for trade and retail customers.

Trade counter orders

Orders from your trade counter delivered to the customer’s site.

Supplier collections

Stock collected from suppliers and brought into your warehouse.

Bulk and long items

Bulky and long products that do not suit a parcel network.

Samples and promotional stock

Samples and promotional stock for trade customers and reps.

Hazardous or regulated products? Chemicals, aerosols and other dangerous goods are checked against what can legally be carried before a booking is accepted. Tell us what the stock is when you ask for a quote.

Before the vehicle leaves

What we confirm before a wholesale job starts

A pallet that cannot be unloaded, or a delivery that misses the customer’s booking slot, costs as much as a late one. These six details are agreed before collection.

You do not need all six to call. Give us what you know and we will ask for the rest.
Stock

What is moving

Pallets, cases or loose stock, with quantity, weight and pallet size.

Collection

Where it is now

Your warehouse, a supplier or a third-party store, with loading times and bays.

Customer

Where it needs to be

The trade customer’s address, goods-in or rear entrance, and any booking reference.

Slot

When it must arrive

The customer’s delivery slot or opening time, so the job is planned backwards from that.

Unloading

How it comes off

Tail lift, pallet truck, forklift on site, or hand-balled cases.

Reference

Order or invoice references on the booking, and proof of delivery at every stop.

When a customer is waiting

How does a wholesale courier work?

In four steps. You tell us the stock and the customer; Flextro assigns a vehicle and fixes the price; the driver collects from your warehouse or supplier; and it is delivered direct with proof of delivery. The booking line is open 24 hours a day.

Flextro works to a 60-minute collection target in most areas. Call 020 4576 3438 when a trade order is urgent.

Nationwide wholesale coverage

Where does Flextro deliver for wholesalers?

Across the whole UK. Flextro collects from warehouses, suppliers and distribution centres and delivers to trade customers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, including the main distribution corridors of the Midlands and the North.

Stock does not stop at a regional boundary. A pallet from a warehouse in Northampton can go straight to a customer in Glasgow, or a trade order from Leeds to a site in Hull, on the same vehicle from collection to delivery.

Vehicle matching

Which vehicle does a wholesale delivery need?

It depends on the load. A few cases fit a small van, one to three pallets need an SWB or LWB, and up to six pallets need a Luton. Give the pallet count, weight and stops and the vehicle is matched for you.

For wholesalers and distributors

One courier account for wholesale businesses

If trade orders leave your warehouse every day, a Flextro business account replaces booking each job with agreed rates, scheduled rounds and overflow capacity on known days. An urgent order still gets its own vehicle, on the same account.

Regular customers, delivery slots and booking-in rules are kept on file. When your own fleet is full, the booking team already knows your customers, so adding a vehicle takes one call.

Wholesale courier pricing

How much does a wholesale courier cost?

A wholesale courier is priced on three things: how quickly the stock has to arrive, the vehicle the load needs, and the route including the number of stops. There is no rate card, because one urgent pallet and a twelve-drop round are different jobs.

Your price is fixed before the booking is accepted. No percentage of the stock’s value, and no surcharges added afterwards.

Response time

How quickly the stock must arrive.

  • Same day for an urgent trade order
  • Next day or scheduled rounds
  • Evening, weekend or bank holiday work

Rounds booked ahead cost less than the same deliveries raised as urgent.

Vehicle and load

The smallest vehicle that carries the load.

  • Pallet count and weight
  • Cased or loose stock
  • Tail lift for heavy pallets

The load is used to size the vehicle, not to price the goods.

Route and stops

The journey and the number of drops.

  • Collection-to-customer mileage
  • Number of trade customers
  • Booking-in and unloading time

Regular rounds and overflow days are priced once and invoiced monthly on an account.

Wholesale courier FAQs

Questions wholesalers ask before booking

Straight answers for transport managers, warehouse teams, sales teams and anyone arranging a trade delivery.

What is a wholesale courier?

A wholesale courier is a dedicated delivery service for trade orders, palletised stock and bulk goods moving from wholesalers and distributors to their customers. Flextro collects the consignment and takes it directly to the customer, on one vehicle, with no pallet network hub in between.

Can you provide extra vans when our fleet is full?

Yes. Extra vehicles can be booked on the days your own fleet cannot cover, either as one-off jobs or on an agreed weekly schedule.

How many pallets can you carry?

Vehicles range from a small van carrying one small pallet to a Luton carrying up to six pallets, depending on pallet size and weight. Tell us the pallet count and weight and the vehicle is matched.

Do you deliver to customers with booking-in slots?

Yes. Give the customer’s slot and booking reference when you book, and the job is planned to arrive in the slot.

Can you deliver several trade orders on one route?

Yes. Orders for several customers can go on one planned multi-drop route, with proof of delivery at every stop.

Can you collect stock from our suppliers?

Yes. Stock can be collected from a supplier on your behalf and delivered to your warehouse or straight to your customer.

Can you carry chemicals or aerosols?

Chemicals, aerosols and some other products are dangerous goods. They are checked against what can legally be carried before a booking is accepted, and some may not be.

How much does a wholesale courier cost?

Each job is priced on how quickly it has to arrive, the vehicle the load needs and the route, including the number of stops. You receive a fixed price before you confirm, and it does not change afterwards unless the job changes.

Do you cover the whole of the UK?

Yes. Flextro collects and delivers across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and a single job can cross the country on the same vehicle.
