Luggage delivery at a glance

What is a luggage delivery service?

A luggage delivery service collects suitcases, bags or permitted personal belongings from one agreed address and transports them to another. Flextro's dedicated option assigns a vehicle to your booking and drives the bags directly from collection to destination, instead of routing them through a parcel-sorting network.

It suits journeys where carrying the bags yourself would be impractical, where several cases need to travel together, or where the luggage has to arrive by a particular time.

Flextro Ltd is a UK courier company registered in England and Wales under company number 15749538, operating from Southbridge House in Croydon, South London, and arranging luggage collection and delivery nationwide.

The Flextro luggage model

Your luggage. One direct journey.

Most low-cost luggage forwarding moves your case through a shared carrier network over several days. Flextro does something different with the UK leg.

A vehicle is assigned to your booking, the bags are collected at the agreed point, and the same vehicle completes the journey. Fewer handling stages means a shorter chain of custody for belongings that cannot simply be replaced if they go astray.

One vehicle, one journey

The bags are loaded once and travel to the destination in the same vehicle, so there is no depot handling in the middle of the trip.

Timing you can plan around

Urgent and pre-booked journeys are both possible. What is realistic depends on distance, access and vehicle availability, and it is confirmed before you commit.

Handover agreed in advance

Reception desks, residence offices and named contacts are recorded with the booking, so the driver knows exactly who can take the bags.

Delivery evidence

Completion is documented after handover, which matters when the luggage belongs to someone who is not at the delivery address.

Know what you are booking

Dedicated luggage courier vs standard luggage forwarding

Both models are legitimate. The right one depends on whether the priority is the lowest multi-day price or a direct journey you can plan around.

Forwarding prices per bag through a network. Flextro prices the route itself.

Where it fits

When a dedicated luggage courier makes sense

Flextro carries luggage for individuals, travellers, students and organisations moving bags between agreed UK addresses.

Tell us where the driver collects and who is able to receive the bags.
Hotels

Bags waiting at reception

Luggage moved to or from a hotel where reception or a named authorised person can complete the handover.

Students

Term-time moves

Suitcases, travel bags and permitted boxed belongings between a family home and university accommodation.

Business

Work trips and events

Work luggage, equipment cases and multiple bags sent ahead of a conference, project or extended stay.

Households

Several cases, one booking

Family luggage or a temporary move between UK addresses, collected together and carried on one journey.

Urgent

Left behind or needed sooner

Time-sensitive UK luggage journeys where waiting for a routine parcel network does not fit the deadline.

Travel hubs

Airports, stations and ports

For journeys where hauling cases across a city would be impractical. Terminal handovers need parking, security and a meeting point agreed first.

How it works

How luggage delivery works

Four steps from the first message to the bags being handed over — starting with the route rather than a list of packaging rules.

Raise anything unusual at step one, not on the doorstep.
01 · Route

Tell us the journey

Give the collection postcode, the destination postcode, when the bags need to arrive and how many you are sending.

02 · Quote

We confirm the quote

Flextro checks availability, matches a suitable vehicle and confirms the price along with any packing, access or handling requirements.

03 · Collection

Your courier collects

The driver collects from the agreed handover point. Hotel, university or travel-hub instructions are supplied in advance so nothing stalls at the door.

04 · Delivery

Direct delivery and POD

The luggage travels to the agreed destination on one journey and proof of delivery is recorded after the handover.

What can be sent

Suitcase delivery for one bag or a full luggage load

The luggage, its contents, weight and the handover conditions all have to suit courier transport. Describe what you are sending before the vehicle is booked.

Suitcases

Cabin cases, medium cases and larger suitcases, subject to size, weight and contents.

Holdalls and travel bags

Soft-sided travel bags and similar luggage, with loose straps secured before collection.

Boxed personal belongings

Personal effects in suitable boxes, where the contents are accepted and the packaging can be handled safely.

Travel cases

Hard cases for business or event use, where dimensions, weight and contents are disclosed in advance.

Group luggage

Several cases and bags for a family, team or group, subject to the capacity of the booked vehicle.

Unusual or bulky items

Do not assume sports equipment, instrument cases or specialist travel items are accepted. Confirm first.

Practical preparation

Preparing your luggage for collection

Packing rules differ between parcel networks and dedicated couriers, so it is worth checking rather than assuming.

Parcel networks often require boxing a suitcase. That rule does not apply here.

Prepare the bag

  • Close and secure zips, catches and locks.
  • Remove or tie back loose straps that could snag in transit.
  • Check handles and wheels are in serviceable condition.
  • Pad fragile contents and stop items shifting inside the case.
  • Give approximate dimensions and weight for large or heavy bags.

Make the handover clear

  • Provide full collection and delivery addresses, not just postcodes.
  • Give a contact name and phone number at both ends where possible.
  • For hotels, include the guest or booking name and reception instructions.
  • For universities, include the building, block or residence reception.
  • For airports, stations or ports, agree a lawful meeting point before booking.

Tell us the awkward bits

  • Stairs, lifts, gated access or restricted parking.
  • Reception hours or a delivery window at either end.
  • Anything fragile, valuable or unusual inside the bags.
  • Whether someone must be present to sign for the luggage.
  • Any bag that cannot be lifted comfortably by one person.

Contents matter

What should not go inside couriered luggage?

Do not assume everything you would pack for a flight can travel by courier. Acceptance depends on the contents, the route and Flextro's current terms.

If there is any doubt about an item, describe it before collection. The booking team can confirm acceptance, handling and whether goods-in-transit cover applies — which is a far better conversation to have in advance than at the door. Goods-in-transit cover is subject to the applicable policy terms, limits and exclusions.

Vehicle matching

Which van will your luggage need?

Give the number of bags, their rough size and weight, and any awkward access. Flextro matches the luggage to a suitable dedicated vehicle.

Small van courier vehicle

Small Van

1.3 × 1.2 × 1.0 m

  • 400 kg max
  • 1 pallet

One to three standard cases, depending on size, shape and how much padding they need.

Short wheelbase courier van

SWB Van

2.1 × 1.2 × 1.4 m

  • 800 kg max
  • 2 pallets

A practical choice for several suitcases or a mixed load of bags and boxes.

Long wheelbase courier van

LWB Van

3.3 × 2.0 × 1.7 m

  • 1,200 kg max
  • 3 pallets

More room again for family or group luggage travelling on one booking.

Extra long wheelbase courier van

XLWB Van

4.2 × 1.2 × 1.75 m

  • 1,000 kg max
  • 4 pallets

Useful where the load is bulky as well as numerous, or includes oversized cases.

Luton courier van

Luton Van

4.2 × 2.0 × 2.1 m

  • 1,000 kg max
  • 6 pallets

For the largest group loads and bulky belongings moving between UK addresses.

Not sure which van fits?

Send the number of bags, approximate weight and the largest dimensions. Flextro will match the luggage to a suitable vehicle and confirm it before dispatch.

Start a Quote

The quote form asks for bag count and rough dimensions, so you never have to pick a vehicle.

Pricing without guesswork

How much does luggage delivery cost?

There is no single UK suitcase-delivery price, because a dedicated quote reflects the actual road journey and the vehicle it needs. The figure is confirmed before you accept the booking.

  • Collection postcode and destination postcode
  • Total journey distance
  • Urgent dispatch or a pre-booked slot

Door-to-door luggage delivery across the UK

Flextro arranges luggage journeys between agreed collection and delivery points across England, Scotland and Wales.

Communication and handover

Updates and proof of delivery for your luggage

Luggage holds personal belongings, so the process should be easy to follow from beginning to end. The journey is a confirmed booking, not an anonymous parcel moving through a sorting network.

Proof of delivery at handover

Completion is documented once the bags are received, which matters when the owner is not at the delivery address.

Updates while the journey runs

Flextro provides delivery communication during the trip. Confirm how updates will reach you when the booking is arranged.

Receiving details agreed first

Hotel reception, university residence, office post room or a named contact — recorded before dispatch rather than worked out on arrival.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about sending luggage by courier

Answers to the practical questions people usually need settled before handing over a suitcase.

What is a luggage delivery service?

A luggage delivery service collects suitcases, bags or permitted personal belongings from one agreed address and transports them to another. Flextro provides a dedicated luggage courier option in which a vehicle is assigned to your booking and travels directly from the collection point to the destination rather than through a parcel sorting network.

Can I send a suitcase by courier in the UK?

Yes. Flextro can arrange UK courier transport for suitcases and travel bags, subject to size, weight, contents and access at both ends. Describe what you are sending when you request the quote so the correct vehicle and any handling requirements can be confirmed before collection.

Is a luggage courier the same as a baggage delivery service?

The terms luggage courier, suitcase courier and baggage delivery are generally used for the same need: moving personal travel bags between two places. The meaningful difference is the operating model. Flextro uses a dedicated road journey for the UK leg rather than a standard parcel-network shipment.

Does my luggage travel in a dedicated vehicle?

On the Flextro dedicated luggage service the assigned vehicle travels from the collection point to the destination without a parcel-hub sorting journey in between. The vehicle is matched to the number of bags and the load being carried.

Can Flextro deliver luggage the same day?

Same-day luggage delivery can be arranged where the collection location, destination, distance and vehicle availability make the requested timing achievable. Send both postcodes and the time the bags need to arrive, and the booking team will confirm what is realistic before you commit.

How quickly can luggage be collected?

Collection timing depends on where the bags are and which vehicles are free. Flextro does not publish an unconditional collection promise on this page. Ask for the earliest available collection when you request the quote and it will be confirmed against the actual route.

Can you collect luggage from, or deliver it to, a hotel?

Hotel collections and deliveries are possible where reception or a named authorised person can complete the handover. Include the guest or booking name and any reception instructions with the request so the driver is not turned away at the desk.

Can you deliver luggage to student accommodation?

Yes, where the receiving address can accept the bags. Provide the building, block, room or residence-reception details, plus a contact number for the student, so the handover point is clear before the vehicle sets off.

Can luggage be collected from or delivered to an airport, station or port?

Travel-hub journeys may be possible where parking, security and a lawful meeting point can be agreed in advance. These are not automatic. Confirm the exact handover arrangement with the booking team before the job is accepted rather than on the day.

How many suitcases can I send in one booking?

There is no fixed limit that applies to every job. The practical number depends on the size, shape and weight of the bags and the capacity of the vehicle assigned. Give the total quantity and rough dimensions and the load can be matched to a suitable van.

What should not be packed inside couriered luggage?

Do not assume everything you would pack for a flight can travel by courier. Dangerous goods, hazardous substances, certain liquids, aerosols and pressurised items, some batteries and battery-powered devices, cash, jewellery, high-value items and regulated goods all need checking first. Tell Flextro what is inside if there is any doubt.

Does my suitcase need to be boxed?

Some parcel-network services require a suitcase to be placed inside a cardboard box. Those rules do not automatically apply to a dedicated Flextro journey, and neither does the reverse. Close and secure zips, catches and loose straps, and confirm packaging requirements when the booking is arranged.

Is my luggage insured while it is being transported?

Goods-in-transit cover is subject to the applicable policy terms, limits and exclusions. Declare high-value, fragile or unusual contents before collection so the position on cover can be confirmed for your specific booking.

How much does it cost to send luggage in the UK?

There is no single national suitcase-delivery price because a dedicated quote reflects the actual road journey and the vehicle needed. Distance, urgency, the number and size of bags, access at both ends and any waiting time all affect the figure. The price is confirmed before you accept the booking.

Do I receive updates and proof of delivery?

Flextro provides delivery communication while the journey runs and records proof of delivery once the bags are handed over at the agreed destination. Confirm how updates will be sent when the booking is arranged.

Can Flextro send luggage overseas?

This page covers UK road journeys. For movements leaving the country, use the Flextro international shipping service, where customs paperwork and item restrictions are handled separately.
