Print courier at a glance

What is a print courier?

A print courier is a dedicated delivery service for print runs, proofs, samples and marketing materials moving from printers and agencies to clients, stores and venues. Flextro collects the consignment and takes it directly to the destination, on one vehicle, with no parcel depot in between.

The work is usually one of two kinds. Deadline jobs, such as proofs for sign-off, samples for a pitch or print for a launch that cannot move. And distribution, such as point-of-sale to several stores or campaign materials to regional offices, which runs to a plan.

The difference from a parcel network is condition and timing. Boxes of print are loaded once and not stacked under other freight, so corners and finishes arrive intact, and the delivery lands on the date the client was promised.

Courier options for print and media

Print courier services for printers, agencies and brands

Most print and marketing delivery falls into six patterns, from a proof that must be signed off today to point-of-sale for fifty stores. Each one runs on a vehicle dedicated to your job.

Not sure which fits? Describe the print and the destinations, and Flextro will match the service and confirm the price before you commit.

Brochures, catalogues, reports and leaflets from press to client.

Proofs and colour samples

Proofs, wet proofs and colour samples for sign-off.

Point-of-sale and displays

POS, window graphics, standees and display units for stores.

Signage and large-format

Rolled banners, boards and large-format graphics, kept flat or in tubes.

Samples and mock-ups

Packaging mock-ups, product samples and pitch materials.

Publications and mailings

Magazines, publications and pre-sorted mailings to a hub or client.

Fresh or delicate finishes? Tell us if print is freshly finished, laminated or must not be stacked, and it will be loaded and secured accordingly.

Before the vehicle leaves

What we confirm before a print job starts

Print that arrives after the presentation, or POS delivered to a store before anyone can take it in, cannot be fixed later. These six details are agreed before collection.

You do not need all six to call. Give us what you know and we will ask for the rest.

What is moving

Boxes, tubes, pallets or flat graphics, with quantity, size and weight.

Where it needs to be

The client, store, office or venue, and the entrance or reception to use.

When it must arrive

The presentation, launch or store-change date, so the job is planned backwards from that.

Job or PO references on the booking, and proof of delivery at every stop.

When a deadline is set

How does a print courier work?

In four steps. You tell us the print and the deadline; Flextro assigns a vehicle and fixes the price; the driver collects from the print works or agency; and it is delivered direct with proof of delivery. The booking line is open 24 hours a day.

Flextro works to a 60-minute collection target in most areas. Call 020 4576 3438 when print comes off the press.

Nationwide print coverage

Where does Flextro deliver print and marketing materials?

Across the whole UK. Flextro collects from print works, finishers, agencies and warehouses and delivers to clients, stores, offices and venues in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Print does not stop at a regional boundary. A run from a printer in Leeds can go straight to a client in London, or POS from Peterborough to stores across the Midlands, on the same vehicle from collection to delivery.

Vehicle matching

Which vehicle does a print delivery need?

It depends on the job. Proofs and samples fit a small van, a print run needs an SWB or LWB, and pallets of catalogues or a POS rollout need a Luton. Give the box or pallet count and the vehicle is matched for you.

For printers and agencies

One courier account for print and marketing businesses

If print leaves your works or studio every day, a Flextro business account replaces booking each job with agreed rates, scheduled runs and one monthly invoice. A launch deadline still gets its own vehicle, on the same account.

Clients, stores, delivery windows and contacts are kept on file. When a job comes off the press late, the booking team already knows where it is going, so briefing an urgent job takes a sentence.

Print courier pricing

How much does a print courier cost?

A print courier is priced on three things: how quickly the print has to arrive, the vehicle the load needs, and the route including the number of stops. There is no rate card, because one proof across town and POS for twenty stores are different jobs.

Your price is fixed before the booking is accepted. No percentage of the job’s value, and no surcharges added afterwards.

Response time

How quickly the print must arrive.

  • Same day proofs and launch print
  • Next day or scheduled deliveries
  • Evening, weekend or bank holiday work

Print booked the day before costs less than the same job raised as urgent.

Vehicle and load

The smallest vehicle that carries the print safely.

  • Box count, pallet count and weight
  • Flat, rolled or large-format items
  • Items that must not be stacked

The load is used to size the vehicle, not to price the print.

Route and stops

The journey and the number of drops.

  • Collection-to-client mileage
  • Number of stores or offices
  • Delivery-window and reception time

Regular print runs are priced once and invoiced monthly on an account.

Print courier FAQs

Questions printers and agencies ask before booking

Straight answers for print managers, account managers, marketing teams and anyone arranging a print delivery.

What is a print courier?

A print courier is a dedicated delivery service for print runs, proofs, samples and marketing materials. Flextro collects the consignment and takes it directly to the destination, on one vehicle, with no parcel depot in between.

Can you deliver proofs for sign-off the same day?

Yes. Proofs and samples can be collected from the printer and delivered for sign-off the same day. Flextro works to a 60-minute collection target in most areas.

Will print arrive without damage?

Print travels on a vehicle carrying only your job, so it is not stacked under other freight. Tell us if it is freshly finished, laminated or must not be stacked, and it will be loaded accordingly.

Can you deliver POS to several stores?

Yes. Point-of-sale and campaign materials for several stores or offices can go on one planned multi-drop route, with proof of delivery at every stop.

Do you carry large-format and rolled graphics?

Yes. Rolled banners and large-format boards can travel flat or in tubes, in a vehicle long enough to carry them without bending.

Can you collect straight off the press?

Yes. Give the print works and the time the job comes off the press, and the collection is timed to it.

Can you set up regular print runs?

Yes. Regular deliveries of publications or printed stock can be set up as a scheduled contract run and invoiced monthly on a business account.

How much does a print courier cost?

Each job is priced on how quickly it has to arrive, the vehicle the load needs and the route, including the number of stops. You receive a fixed price before you confirm, and it does not change afterwards unless the job changes.

Do you cover the whole of the UK?

Yes. Flextro collects and delivers across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and a single job can cross the country on the same vehicle.
