IT equipment courier at a glance

What is an IT equipment courier?

An IT equipment courier is a dedicated delivery service for laptops, servers, network hardware and other technology moving between offices, data centres, engineers and users. Flextro collects the equipment and takes it directly to the destination, on one vehicle, without passing through a parcel depot.

The work is usually one of two kinds. Urgent replacements, where a user, office or site is offline until a device, switch or server arrives. And planned movements, such as rollouts, office moves, repairs and returns, which run to a schedule.

The difference from a parcel network is handling. Equipment is loaded once and handed over once, so it is not sorted, dropped or stacked at a hub, which matters when the hardware is worth far more than the delivery.

Courier options for IT

IT equipment courier services for businesses and IT providers

Most IT delivery falls into six patterns, from a replacement switch an office needs within hours to a rollout of laptops to fifty users. Each one runs on a vehicle dedicated to your job.

Not sure which fits? Describe the equipment and the destination, and Flextro will match the service and confirm the price before you commit.
Offline

What IT teams send

What does an IT equipment courier carry?

Any technology that fits a van, from a single laptop to a server rack. These are the consignments businesses and IT providers ask us to move most often.

Laptops and desktops

Laptops, desktops and monitors for new starters, swaps and rollouts.

Servers and storage

Servers, storage arrays and rack equipment between offices and data centres.

Network hardware

Switches, routers, firewalls and access points for urgent replacements.

Printers and peripherals

Printers, docks, phones and peripherals for offices and home workers.

Repairs and returns

Faulty equipment to repairers and returns to distributors.

End-of-life equipment

Old hardware collected and taken to your recycler or disposal partner.

High-value equipment? Tell us the value and quantity when you book so goods-in-transit cover can be checked against the policy limits before the job is accepted. Lithium batteries shipped loose are checked before booking.

Before the vehicle leaves

What we confirm before an IT job starts

A server left at an unattended reception, or a rack that will not fit through the door, costs as much as a late delivery. These six details are agreed before collection.

You do not need all six to call. Give us what you know and we will ask for the rest.

When a site is offline

How does an IT equipment courier work?

In four steps. You tell us the equipment and the destination; Flextro assigns a vehicle and fixes the price; the driver collects from your stores, distributor or office; and it is handed to the named recipient with proof of delivery. The booking line is open 24 hours a day.

Flextro works to a 60-minute collection target in most areas. Call 020 4576 3438 when a site is down.

The driver collects from your stores, distributor or office using your ticket or order reference.

Nationwide IT coverage

Where does Flextro deliver IT equipment?

Across the whole UK. Flextro collects from and delivers to offices, data centres, distributors, repair centres and home workers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Equipment does not stop at a regional boundary. A server from a data centre in Slough can go straight to an office in Manchester, or laptops from a distributor in Reading to users across the South East, on the same vehicle from collection to delivery.

Vehicle matching

Which vehicle does an IT delivery need?

It depends on the equipment. A few laptops or a switch fit a small van, a server or a rollout needs an SWB or LWB, and racks or an office move need a Luton. Give the equipment list and weights and the vehicle is matched for you.

For businesses and IT providers

One courier account for IT teams and providers

If equipment moves between your offices, engineers and clients every week, a Flextro business account replaces booking each job with agreed rates, scheduled runs and one monthly invoice. A site that is down still gets its own vehicle, on the same account.

Offices, data centres, client sites and access rules are kept on file. When a switch fails, the booking team already knows where the replacement is going, so briefing an urgent job takes a sentence.

Moving equipment for clients? Every job can carry your client or ticket reference for rebilling.

IT equipment courier pricing

How much does an IT equipment courier cost?

An IT equipment courier is priced on three things: how quickly the equipment has to arrive, the vehicle and handling it needs, and the route including time on site. There is no rate card, because a laptop across town and a server rack across the country are different jobs.

Your price is fixed before the booking is accepted. No percentage of the equipment’s value, and no surcharges added afterwards.

Response time

How quickly the equipment must arrive.

  • Same day for a site that is offline
  • Scheduled rollouts and runs
  • Overnight or weekend change windows

A rollout booked ahead costs less than the same devices raised as urgent.

Vehicle and handling

The vehicle and people the equipment needs.

  • Size, weight and packaging
  • Racks and heavy hardware
  • Two-person handling on site

The equipment is used to size the vehicle, not to price the hardware.

Route and stops

The journey and the time at each end.

  • Collection-to-site mileage
  • Security, loading bay and access time
  • Multi-user rollouts and return legs

Regular IT runs are priced once and invoiced monthly on an account.

IT equipment courier FAQs

Questions IT teams ask before booking

Straight answers for IT managers, service desks, MSPs and anyone arranging an equipment delivery.

What is an IT equipment courier?

An IT equipment courier is a dedicated delivery service for laptops, servers, network hardware and other technology. Flextro collects the equipment and takes it directly to the destination, on one vehicle, without passing through a parcel depot.

Can you move servers and high-value equipment?

Yes. Equipment travels on a single vehicle with no depot handling. Tell us the value and quantity so goods-in-transit cover can be checked against the policy limits before the job is booked.

How quickly can you deliver a replacement device?

Flextro works to a 60-minute collection target in most areas, 24 hours a day. The delivery time depends on distance and is confirmed with the price when you book.

Can you deliver laptops to home workers?

Yes. Laptops and devices can be delivered to several home workers or offices on one planned route, with proof of delivery at each address.

Do you work overnight and at weekends?

Yes. The booking line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including bank holidays, for change windows, migrations and urgent replacements.

Can you collect faulty or old equipment?

Yes. Faulty equipment can be collected and taken to a repairer, and end-of-life hardware to your recycling or disposal partner.

Can you carry lithium batteries?

Batteries fitted inside devices are normally fine. Loose lithium batteries are dangerous goods and are checked against what can legally be carried before a booking is accepted.

How much does an IT equipment courier cost?

Each job is priced on how quickly it has to arrive, the vehicle and handling needed, and the route including time on site. You receive a fixed price before you confirm, and it does not change afterwards unless the job changes.

Do you cover the whole of the UK?

Yes. Flextro collects and delivers across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and a single job can cross the country on the same vehicle.
