Construction courier at a glance
A construction courier is a dedicated delivery service for the tools, materials, fixings and plant a building site needs to keep working. Flextro collects from merchants, suppliers, depots and other sites and drives the consignment directly to the site, on one vehicle, with no parcel depot in between.
The work is usually one of two kinds. Urgent site deliveries, where a crew is waiting on a missing item and every hour costs money. And planned movements, such as scheduled drops to a site, transfers between projects and returns to hire depots, which cost less booked ahead.
The difference from a parcel network is access. Sites have gate times, restricted roads, banksmen and booking-in rules. Those details are agreed before the driver leaves, so the delivery is not turned away at the gate or left somewhere nobody signed for it.
Courier options for construction
Most site delivery falls into six patterns, from a missing fixing that has stopped a crew to the same materials drop every Monday. Each one runs on a vehicle dedicated to your job.

Explore Two Man Delivery →What sites need
Anything a site needs that fits a van, from a box of fixings to a full pallet of blocks. These are the consignments contractors and trades ask us to move most often.
Drills, saws, breakers and specialist tools between yard, depot and site.
Fixings, fittings, adhesives, sealants and blades from the merchant to the gang.
Blocks, bagged products, tiles, insulation and boards on pallets.
Mixers, generators, pumps and lighting to and from hire depots.
Doors, windows, sanitaryware and kitchen units, handled with care.
Revised drawings, permits and signed documents that have to be on site today.
Gas, fuel or chemicals? Gas cylinders, fuel, solvents and some chemicals are dangerous goods. They are checked against what can legally be carried before a booking is accepted. Tell us what the item is when you ask for a quote.
Before the vehicle leaves
A delivery turned away at the gate, or a pallet that needs a tail lift nobody booked, costs a crew as much time as a late one. These six details are agreed before collection.
Item, quantity, weight and length, and whether it is boxed, bagged, palletised or loose.
A merchant trade counter, a hire depot, your yard or another site, with the contact releasing it.
Site address, gate or compound, and any what3words location or drop point on a large site.
Delivery windows, booking-in slots, height or weight limits, and restricted or permit-only roads.
Tail lift, two people or a site forklift, and whether PPE or an induction is needed to unload.
The site manager, foreman or storeman receiving the load, and proof of delivery on handover.
When a crew is waiting
In four steps. You tell us the load and the site; Flextro assigns a vehicle and fixes the price; the driver collects from the merchant, depot or yard; and it is delivered to site with proof of delivery. The booking line is open 24 hours a day, including bank holidays.
What is moving, where it is, which site needs it and when the gate is open.
A vehicle matched to the load and the site access is assigned, and a fixed price agreed.
The driver collects from the merchant, hire depot or your yard using your order reference.
One journey to the gate or drop point, updates on the way and proof of delivery on handover.
Nationwide site coverage
Across the whole UK. Flextro collects from merchants, hire depots and yards and delivers to construction sites in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, from city-centre towers to rural housing developments.
A load does not stop at a regional boundary. Fixings from a merchant in Croydon can go straight to a site in Reading, or a generator from a depot in Leeds to a project in York, on the same vehicle from collection to delivery.
Type a town or city to open its local coverage page, or start a quote for any UK collection and delivery postcode.
Vehicle matching
It depends on the load and the access. A box of fixings fits a small van, timber lengths and doors need an LWB or XLWB, and a pallet of blocks needs a Luton. Give the size, weight and any site restrictions and the vehicle is matched for you.

1.3 × 1.2 × 1.0 m
Fixings, fittings, hand tools and site paperwork.

2.1 × 1.2 × 1.4 m
Power tools, small plant and boxed materials.

3.3 × 2.0 × 1.7 m
Doors, boards, sanitaryware and larger tool loads.

4.2 × 1.2 × 1.75 m
Timber, pipe, trunking and other long lengths.

4.2 × 2.0 × 2.1 m
Pallets of blocks, bagged products and hired plant.
Describe the load and the site access. We will match the vehicle to both and confirm it with the price.

Customer proof
Real reviews from UK businesses that use Flextro for urgent, planned and repeat deliveries.
For contractors and trades
If materials move between your yard, merchants and sites every week, a Flextro business account replaces booking each job with agreed rates, scheduled site drops and one monthly invoice. An urgent site delivery still gets its own vehicle, on the same account.
Sites, gate times, contacts and access rules are kept on file for the life of each project. When a crew is waiting, the booking team already knows the site, so briefing an urgent job takes a sentence.

Construction courier pricing
A construction courier is priced on three things: how quickly the load has to move, the vehicle it needs, and the route including time on site. There is no rate card, because a box of fixings this morning and a pallet of blocks next week are different jobs.
How quickly the load has to reach site.
Materials booked the day before cost less than the same load raised as urgent.
The smallest vehicle that carries the load safely.
The load is used to size the vehicle, not to price the materials.
The journey and the time spent at each end.
Regular site runs are priced once and invoiced monthly on an account.
